How To Style Vintage Finds:
See the potential behind antique pieces the way a designer does. Give your style an unexpected layered look by pairing vintage and investment pieces. Take this look to your windows by pairing formal window shutters with draperies made from vintage fabrics.

Take Michele's advice when you shop in antique stores - learn what's worth splurging for, what's not, how to shop for art and furniture, and always remember- buy anything under $5 if it speaks to your heart.
Michele's tips for Vintage Art:
  • Buy pre-framed pieces.

  • Layer investment art pieces with garage sale finds

  • Display antique pieces as wall art

  • Buy the things you fall in love with

Decorating with Wallpaper:
Think wallpaper is outdated and tacky? Not the way Michele sees it.

Learn to use bold patterns like flocked damask and grass cloth to create unique, fashion forward spaces in your home. A small entryway will pop in brick and black damask. Give a conventional bathroom a little more shine with mixed metals. Follow Michele's lead by pairing printed wallpaper with contrasting pieces for an adventurous look. But stay true to your personal style in all aspects of your home decorating.

Michele Stoll Style and Inspiration:
Interior decorating should be a joy, not a daunting task. Michele stresses the importance of filling your home with items that are "talking points."

Do the items that you surround yourself with hold a deeper meaning? If someone asks you about an item do you have a story to tell? Show your personal style by creating a comfortable, lived-in space and don't be afraid to incorporate color with accent walls and windows.

Personalize Your Design:
Are you willing to take design risks? Take it from Michele: "The safe and reliable road doesn't always lead you to the best path."

When shopping don't take pieces at face value. Go beyond the store set up! Instead, add unique spin to make the look your own. Allow your style to evolve continually and get décor inspiration from the things you enjoy doing most. Browse the wallpaper trends lookbook to see what's sweeping the home design world this season.
